Challenges on the road to finding the perfect foundation......

The perfect foundation = a flawless, radiant you - hmnnn, in the ideal world!

If you are anything like me, you'll know that getting to this destination is not without its challenges....

In this age where there are a multitude of options, foundations come in various formulas and consistencies, all promising to be the 'one' for you. Liquids, powders, cream-to-powders, sprays, sticks and cakes, the types are endless.
Once you can get your head round that, then you need to decide on whats best for your skintype - for example, Oilier skins are better suited to powders and drier types tend to be more comfotable with liquids; Your lifestyle - if you apply your makeup at 7am on your way to work, you'll probably prefer a compact product whereas if you are applying your makeup is an hour long session for you, you might prefer a liquid; and of course, your budget many 'designer' brands are increasingly comparable to mass produced brands.
Other desirable benefits can range from anti-ageing, brightening, firming and mattifying properties but the ultimate deciding factor is...............the right shade!

Yep yep!

Back to the very basics - fabulous product in the wrong colour for your skin and you have a disaster in your hands, I'm having flashbacks.. :( !

Things like the comical "fanta face / cocacola body" statement come to mind....!
What is the right shade of foundation? Darker? Lighter, Perfect match to the skin tone?
Or is that only the begining of the solution? Find out in Part 2!

O dear........black lip liner!

What goes with vaseline, shiny gold lipstick and bright red lipstick? Black lip-liner! Ok, let me clarify this, it appears to me that many black women, especially in West Africa and the Carribean seem to believe that a black liner goes with everything!

Huh! They wish!

They use it boldly with every lipstick, gloss or stain, believing it makes them look groomed...o dear...its totally the opposite!

What happened to the chocolate and burgundy tones...? Too flattering and complementary to their natural tones? Question!!?!

They terorrise us with their defined-black-lined pouts and we, mere passersby cannot dare comment..who are we to know better???

Your thoughts.....
